Physician Assistant

Job Summary

Under the supervision of a physician examine patients, prescribe medicine, and order and interpret test results and recommend treatment of patients, prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval, administer therapeutic procedures, conduct complete physicals, provide treatment and counsel patients.

Essential Functions

  • Check-in and examine patients
  • Administer medications and immunizations
  • Perform First Aid care and sutures
  • Perform and analyze X-Rays and laboratory tests
  • Assist doctors with patient diagnosis and the development of patient treatment plans
  • Treat minor injuries and illnesses
  • Perform therapeutic treatments as needed
  • Communicate with patients on appointment scheduling and treatment progress
  • Answer patient questions accurately and politely
  • Keep thorough records of all patient examinations, diagnoses, and treatments
  • Complete any and all tasks requested by physicians 
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong sense of compassion and personal ethics
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to remain focused and accurate under pressure
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
  • Must be PANCE (Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination) certified through the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
  • Current Illinois PA License, or ability to obtain Illinois license
  • Ability to obtain DEA license
  • Occupational Health experience and DOT Medical Examiner certification preferred but not required. 

Nurse Practitioner

Radiologist Technician

Job Description

To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Escort patients to dressing and x-ray rooms, provide verbal and/or written instructions and assist patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed. Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety and comfort during scan.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to specification of examination. Take x-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety. 
  • Develop and process radiologic film.
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure the safety of patients and team members.
  • Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order. Report equipment malfunctions to Practice Manager or supervisor.
  • Perform related administrative duties including completing necessary forms, labeling films and film envelopes and maintaining procedure logs.
  • Retrieve radiologic orders from and input related data into the electronic medical record. 
  • Maintain adequate radiologic supplies. 
  • Serve as a back-up for clinical team members as needed by controlling patient flow, performing EKG tests, obtaining blood pressure measurements, documenting vital signs in the EMR.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Medical Assistant

Job Description

Premier Urgent Care and Occupational Health Center is looking for professional, friendly and caring team players to join our staff. We operate in a high demand environment, and have the pleasure of bringing exemplary healthcare to the Hyde Park area. Applicants must:

  • Be able to multitask in an environment where you will be crossed trained for other tasks.
  • Front office work, answering calls and greeting patients.
  • Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical test 
    • Taking blood pressure, weight, heart rate, temperature, O2 sat, and respirations
  • Recording patients medical history; confirming purpose of visit. Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records
  • Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments. 
  • Assist with completion of diagnostic procedures
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with regulations
  • Assist in keeping an inventory of stock and keeping office manager informed on placing orders for materials as they are needed
  • Keeping equipment and work areas cleaned throughout the day
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, and performing preventative maintenance
  • Be knowledgeable about the equipment and how to use it
  • Be able to obtain blood samples, correctly label and run test (if needed) and know proper disposal of specimens
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

Occupational health experience preferred but not required
